PENNIES for OLDER PAWS APPEAL
On Saturday August 17th a team of dedicated supporters walked 18 miles starting at the Stepping Stones in Dovedale and walking to the source of the River Dove above Hollingsclough.
A core bunch of hardy walkers completed the whole 18 miles while others walked various stages of around 6.5 to 8.5 miles each. The age range of the walkers was from 12 years to 77 years and everyone did really well. We mustn’t forget the dogs who also contributed – Finley, Toto, Ted, Zara and Scruff. The walkers enjoyed a well earned cuppa with some gorgeous cakes at the end. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves too.
Sponsorship money is still be finalised but it looks as though around £1,142 give or take a few pounds has been raised. Which is absolutely brilliant. Thank you so much to everyone who sponsored.
The walk was done to help raise funds for our older residents including Staffy, Mabel who is 10 years old, Fizz, Fox Terrier, who is 13 years old, Marvin, grey and white cat, who is 14 years old and Arthur, black and white cat who is also 14 years old.
Here are a few photos from the walk.
