On September 19th a small group of dedicated supporters are donning their walking boots and putting their best foot forward to do a Sponsored Walk from Parwich, Nr Ashbourne, Derbyshire to and then around Carsington Water. The full distance is 15 miles. Others will join them for part of the walk. The age range of the participants will probably be from 13 years to 78 years and there will hopefully be a few dogs taking part too. They will be walking in small groups to meet the government guidelines so everybody will be safe.
The money raised from this Sponsored Walk will be used to help pay for Bed, Breakfast and Evening Meals and/or Veterinary Care for the older dogs and cats in our care, including Staffy cross Mabel who is now 11 years old. Eric. a Chihuahua who is a very grumpy dog, but greatly loved by the foster family who care for him. Eric has a heart condition and is about 12 years old. Molly is a wonderful tabby cat who is probably the nicest cat you could ever wish to meet. She has been asthmatic ever since she came to us several years ago and receives daily medication. Thankfully she has a fantastic foster home. Evie is just an ordinary black cat. She is over 10 years old and needs to have sensitive diet food. Sadly, because she is a black cat no one has shown any interest in her at all.
If you would like to make a donation for this event you can do so via Give as You Live. (or via Paypal- see our donate page)
Our Waifs and Strays are most grateful to you for caring.
