Jerry

gerry july 2014

After being with us for quite a long while we were so pleased that Jerry finally found the most wonderful new home. He has already become the best companion that could ever be hoped for.

His new ‘Dad’ is with him almost fully and loves Jerry unconditionally, even when anxiety at being left for a short while for the very first time caused somewhat of a state in the house! Jerry obviously thought he was being abandoned all over again.

Luckily he has a very understanding ‘Dad’ who will work on this over time with Jerry following advice from our volunteer Canine Behaviourist, Rachel. basically though Jerry just goes everywhere with him, as that’s what his ‘Dad’ wanted, a companion. They are both enjoying lovely long walks and then a nice sit down together at home afterwards.

On the rare occasion he can’t take him at present Jerry has a ‘dog sitter’ That’s the commitment we love to hear about. Of course we hope in time Jerry will learn that he wont be deserted ever again and can rest easy for  a short while if he has to be left alone.

So far Jerry has gone for train rides and also a boat ride on the river at Chester. He was a star passenger on both. He is enjoying lots of fuss from everyone who meets him.

We wish both the very best for the future and lots of great times together.

March 2015 update. Jerry is absolutely wonderful, a real companion to his ‘Dad’. He has filled out properly now and looks fantastic. He looks so happy (can he be the same thin dog that came to us originally!). He has become a familiar sight on local transport – such a good boy when travelling- sits nicely and accepts all the fuss which is still made of him by everyone who meets him! He is enjoying long walks too every day in lots of lovely places, local and far afield. He is a very lucky boy who is repaying this by giving loads of affection and love ten times over.
