We were delighted to receive a visit from Iris and Chrissie who brought along their wonderful Mum of course! They are absolute darlings and their ‘host’ for the morning- Slim was also a very good lad too.

Well its just over a year since Iris and Chrissie went to live with their new ‘Mum’. We thought you’d like to see what fantastic little dogs they have become. They have such beautiful coats now and they are the most delightful companions anyone could wish for!

We are sure you will remember Iris and Irene (now Chrissie) who are 2 middle aged King Charles Cavaliers. Both of them were in such a terrible condition when found and brought into our care. Both were terribly thin and had awful skin problems. Iris had to have one eye removed and Irene had a heart murmour. They obviously had not been cared for well at all. It was touch and go for a short while but thanks to the tremendous love and care given to them at Meir Park Veterinary Hospital and then by the kennels staff when they went back to the kennels they have become smashing little dogs.
Almost as soon as they came to us and after hearing of their plight they were offered a home by Pam who had sadly lost her Cavalier a while ago. She visited them in the kennels a number of times until they were well enough to go home and they got to know her. What an occasion it was on the day they were well enough to go home.
Since then they have never looked back. The whole village knows them well- they are such little stars and are showered with gifts!. Pam has been fantastic with them and they could not wish to have a nicer, more loving home, Their new ‘Mum’ dotes on them. The ‘little monkeys’ are such happy, playful little dogs now and their coats shine with health. They have hopefully forgotten all about their former life and enjoy playing in their lovely garden, going on lots of walks and then relaxing together dreaming of the wonderful day they have just had and what they can look forward to the next day.
We get lots of regular updates but were delighted to see them looking so good at Margaret’s summer Garden Party. They had people queuing to meet them to give them a stroke and cuddle. They lapped it all up!
This is certainly a very happy success story.
